You may see "mog" or mogged in social-media comments. It often refers to appearance in looksmaxxing slang, but can also mean outperforming someone. One related format is mog battles on random video chat. Similar names can refer to different products. Here are common forms and their meanings.
For usage and background, see Dictionary.com’s mog entry. This article explains slang; it does not endorse appearance-based rankings.

Having been outshone on looks. "I got mogged" means the other person looked better than you, in that photo, that clip or that moment.
A common form in online comments. It is usually said about yourself, as a joke.
The act of outshining someone, or the whole habit of comparing looks. "Mogging" is also used for the trend of clips built around it.
Also seen as "mogs", "mogger" (the one who mogs) and "mog battle" (the head-to-head clip).
A face that "mogs": strong jaw, clear eyes, symmetrical features. Also the serious, chin-down expression people pull in mogging clips.
Mostly used about men, increasingly about anyone.
Outshining someone with your build or your height rather than your face. "He height-mogged the whole team."
Part of a family: eye mog, jaw mog, hair mog, outfit mog.
An app or website that puts a score on a face, or compares two faces, and says who mogs. The scores move a lot with lighting and camera angle.

| You see | It means |
|---|---|
| "He mogs." | He looks better than the people around him. |
| "I got mogged." | The other person looked better than me (usually a joke). |
| "Mog check?" | Asking who looks better in a photo or a clip. |
| "Height mog." | Outshone by someone taller, not by their face. |
| "Omogle mog." | A mog battle filmed on random video chat. |
Said about yourself, it is self-deprecating and mostly harmless: you lost a photo, not a contest. Aimed at a stranger, it is a verdict on their face that they did not ask for, often filmed for an audience. That is where the joke stops.
If you are on a video chat and someone starts rating you, you do not owe them a round. End the call, and if they are recording without asking, report it.
A mog checker scores a face, or two faces against each other. The result swings with things that have nothing to do with you: the light, how close the phone is, the angle of your head. If you try one, use a few photos and treat the spread as the answer. Better still, check what the app does with the photo you upload.
Omogle.tv offers video and text chat without facial scores or a mog-battle leaderboard. Similarly named products can have different features and operators. Here is how it works. Coming from another video chat app? Compare it with Azar, ChatHub or Chatspin.
